Collage, Lagos, a participatory exhibition by artist Ofem Ubi and organized by The Global Centro, will take place from August 1–3, 2026 at the Centre for Contemporary Art, Lagos (CCA Lagos). Curated by Chris Udoh, the exhibition brings together poetry, collage, storytelling, and community engagement through a series of interactive programmes designed to encourage creative participation.
Exploring collage as both an artistic practice and a framework for understanding memory, place, and identity, Collage, Lagos invites visitors to engage with fragments of personal and collective histories. Through writing, recording, visual expression, and conversation, participants will contribute to an evolving creative space that reflects the diverse experiences and narratives that shape contemporary Lagos.
The exhibition extends beyond traditional gallery viewing, creating opportunities for audiences to actively participate in the artistic process through workshops, open sessions, and collaborative activities.

Exhibition Opening

The opening marks the beginning of the three-day exhibition and introduces visitors to Ofem Ubi’s multidisciplinary approach to storytelling, memory, and community engagement.
Open Writing & Recording Sessions

Visitors are invited to share stories, reflections, poems, and recordings as part of an ongoing collective archive created throughout the exhibition period.
Kids’ Collage Workshop
August 2, 2026
Facilitated in partnership with Ilamp Initiative and Àwùjọ Ọlá Kids, this workshop provides a creative environment for children to explore collage-making and imaginative expression.
Writing Workshop with Ofem Ubi
August 3, 2026 | 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
A focused workshop for writers, artists, and creative practitioners interested in narrative development and experimental writing. Participation is limited to ten attendees.
