Support the CCA, Lagos Library Initiative

Preserving Knowledge. Inspiring Futures.

The Centre for Contemporary Art, Lagos (CCA, Lagos) was founded in 2007 by the late Bisi Silva (1962–2019) as an independent non-profit visual art organization dedicated to promoting the development, presentation, and discussion of contemporary art and culture in Nigeria and across Africa.

For over a decade, our space has been a home for artists, curators, scholars, and dreamers — a place where new ideas take root and histories are reimagined.

Why a Library?

Bisi Silva envisioned CCA as not just a gallery, but a hub of learning — where art meets research, and archives inspire new generations.

The CCA Library will:

R

House one of the most comprehensive collections on contemporary African art and visual culture in the region.

R

Provide open access to artists, students, and researchers.

R

Serve as a living archive of critical thought, exhibitions, and creative practices.

R

Continue Bisi’s lifelong passion for knowledge-sharing and mentorship.
