he HFBK Hamburg has released its latest edition of its much-celebrated print journal, Lerchenfeld. This edition focuses on art libraries and their role in modern art practice. With in-depth reviews and analysis, it paints an expansive view of art library resources, exploring how they contribute to the world of contemporary art, provide invaluable access to information, and support students and artists in the regions in which they exist.
Issue 68 of Lerchenfeld offers a special review at the Centre for Contemporary Art, Lagos. It highlights how this library adds invaluable resources to the African art space and its accessible location in Lagos for the enjoyment of its patrons. Over the years, the library of CCA Lagos has painstakingly built an extensive archive of books, videos, and other resources.
In addition, this issue also reviews other resourceful art libraries that include the Women’s Art Library of Goldsmiths College, University of London; the Bibliothek der Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig (GfZK); the Art Resources Transfer Library of New York; and many more.
